How can I share my configurations with other users?
You can share saved PrCode configurations and saved cameras with any of your teams or individual users. Sharing your configurations with a team, will share the content with all users within the team. Visit Sharing Your PrCodes and Sharing Your Cameras to find out more.
What is Turntable?
Turntable is a camera feature in Spotlight that lets you capture multiple images from different pre-defined camera angles. Flycam must be enabled for the feature to work. Visit Turntable in Shutter Pro to find out more.
Can I add my own environment?
Currently, you can choose from the pre-configured environments in the Bottom Menu, select a colour, or choose a transparent background. The SpotLight Scene app will be available soon which allows users to create their own backplates.
How do I change the exterior colour?
You can do this by editing the PrCode string in the PrCode Configuration section. Find out more in Working With PrCodes.
How can I access more PrCodes?
PrCode strings can easily be copied to SpotLight but it does not provide them. Contact your manager for more PrCode strings.
How can I rotate or move the environment?
The environment itself cannot be moved, although you can select different cameras to move around the car. You can also use Vehicle Control which allows you to move the position of the car rather than the camera angle using the X, Y & Z values.
How can I move the camera position back to default?
The default camera is the Global Stage Camera, you can do this in the controls section at the bottom of the viewport. Select the Exterior Camera icon, then select Global Stage Camera. You must select the camera again in order to go back to the default camera.
How can I pan the camera without selecting Flycam?
Without FlyCam mode, you must select an Exterior Camera. The pre-defined camera angles ensure the car is the main focal point whereas FlyCam gives you more control, if you wish to pan the camera around the car you must select FlyCam.
Can cameras be imported from third party software such as Maya?
No, not currently. However, you can configure your camera within SpotLight and save and share if you want to use the same camera settings for different models/configurations. Visit Camera Configurations to find out more.
How can I turn the headlights on?
The headlights and fog lights are usually found under the Animations in the controls section. These animations only appear if they are present in the model. However, you can use the Bloom Render Effect to enhance the brightness of the headlights. Visit Bloom to find out more.
How can I hide objects?
You can use the Material ID Render Layer to mask and hide certain areas in third party software, however this can’t be done in SpotLight.
Although you can use the Near Clip tool to cut away sections of the image based on the distance away from the car measured in metres. To use the Near Clip tool, select FlyCam from the controls section. Visit Near Clip to find out more.
How can I adjust the focus distance with the Depth Of Field effect?
You can adjust the distance of the Depth Of Field by moving the camera into the position you want, then select Depth Of Field. You can also do this by selecting the Fixed Focus Type and use the Manual Focus Settings dropdown menu to toggle the Focal Distance slider. Visit Depth Of Field to find out more.
How can I adjust the lighting and reflection of each interior part?
The lighting of individual materials is defined by the model of the car and the whole lighting set up, this is done outside of SpotLight. However, you can export an image with the Material ID Render Layer (in PSD format) to edit the settings using masks to highlight certain areas, but this must be done using third party software, and can’t be done in SpotLight.
How can I undo an operation?
Currently, there is no way to undo operations.
If you select FlyCam and wish to go back to your original camera, you must select another camera from the controls section.
How can I view the Credit cost of an order before rendering?
The cost of your order will be displayed in the Output menu under Current Order. Learn more about Multi-Shot and viewing your cart.
How can I view my Credit balance?
You can view the credit balance of each of your team's wallets (if applicable) by selecting the profile icon in the top right corner of the screen. Find out more in Credits.
Can I make the under car shadow transparent?
Currently, the only way to modify the shadow is by exporting the Render layers Environment shadow. Although, the shadow layer is not transparent and is outputted on a white layer. To achieve a transparent shadow, you can open the layer in Photoshop and follow steps to 'cut out' the shadow.
Can I change the time-out length?
The time-out length cannot be changed, this is due to security reasons. After a two minute period of inactivity, the stream will disconnect. You will need to re-connect to the stream or log in again. Find out more about Time-outs.
Can I view a JSON file of my order?
Yes. You can view the JSON data my using the image link of your asset in your order history. Visit Viewing Your JSON data in the Project Import/Export section to learn how to create a JSON file from the image link.
